MORGANTOWN — Here is a look at some of the bills introduced on Tuesday, Jan. 18. Local sponsors and co-sponsors, if any, are noted.

SB 415, to cap severance tax collections at 8.5% of general revenue collections and deposit any remainder in a new Economic Development Growth Encouragement Fund.

SB 421, to create a paid parental leave pilot program “to determine the viability of paid parental leave for state employees as a means of promoting working families’ physical and mental health, increasing employee retention, and improving employee productivity and morale following the birth or adoption of a child.”

HB 4252, to reduce the copay on insulin from $100 to $35 and to cap the copay on devices — a blood glucose test strip, glucometer, continuous glucometer, lancet, lancing device, or insulin syringe but not insulin pumps — at $100. Delegates Amy Summers, R-Taylor, Guy Ward, R-Marion, Barbara Evans Fleischauer, D-Monongalia, co-sponsors.
