WESTOVER — Mayor Dave Johnson was re-elected during city elections this week.

This will be his seventh term at the helm of the city.

Elections were held Tuesday, after having been postponed from June due to COVID-19 and the moving of the state’s primary election, according to Westover City Clerk Sandra Weis.

Also re-elected were counselors Edie Viola and Steve Andryzcik.

Viola was first elected to Westover City Council in 1996. This will be Andryzcik’s second term.

Gary Weber was elected to his first full term. He was previously appointed to fill an unexpired term on council.

Also elected for the first time was Steve Lawrence, who won in a write-in bid for a council-at-large seat.

Due to the COVID pandemic, council has only been meeting by teleconference when necessary.

Viola said they hope to change that and begin meeting in person again next week.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at Westover City Hall, 500 Dupont Road.

Meetings are at 6 p.m. the first and third Mondays of each month.
