New businesses come to Preston

KINGWOOD — Two new Preston County businesses aim to help people look their best.

Tess Tonkovch and her mother, Kelly Dolan — owners of Tess Beauty at 137 Price St. — said they graduated from beauty school together.

“I thought long and hard about what I could do to help people,” Tonkovch said. “This lets me help people feel good about themselves. Everyone deserves to be beautiful.”

Dolan said the shop allows her to spend a lot of quality time with her daughter.

“My vision is for her to be successful,” she said. “We would like to see Price Street full of businesses again.”

Tonkovch said she wants her customers to feel good about themselves when they leave her shop.

Kelly Dolan, left, and her daughter Tess Tonkovch are the owners of Tess Beauty.

“I want it to be a refreshing experience.,” she said. “I’ve been places where I felt I didn’t fit in. I want people to feel good when they leave.”

Their shop offers Brazilian Blowouts, a hair smoothing treatment that keeps hair frizz free for 12 weeks, gel manicures and pedicures, hair coloring, haircuts, tape extensions and halo extensions.

Jarolyn and Peggy Phillips, of Preston Aesthetics and Spa, on Morgantown Street, said they too offer a lot in the way of beauty.

They offer TempSure Envi, which helps skin create new collagen.

Jarolyn said the treatment can be applied to areas including forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s fee, smile lines, wrinkles in the chin and cellulite on the body.

“We wanted to bring this service to the area, so people don’t have to travel so far for treatments,” Phillips said. “We wanted to help people feel good about themselves.”

Some of the other treatments offered by Preston Aesthetics and Spa are laser scar removal, laser skin renewal, laser hair removal, RF Radio surgery for facial vein removal, and Three for Me laser treatment.

Phillips said Three for Me laser treatments reduces wrinkles, sun damage and facial veins.

She said consultations usually cost $50, but from now until the end of July consultations will be free.

“If the person having the consultation decides to have a treatment the $50 will go toward that also,” Phillips said.
