A look at Mountaineer Country resources

VMCCVB launched an online Mountaineer Country Community Resource Guide to address the concerns around coronavirus. This guide is meant to support residents, visitors and local businesses during the COVID-19 outbreak. We invite you to share it with your friends and family. To access this guide, please go to VisitMountaineerCountry.com/Coronavirus.

If you, or anyone you know, would like to request an edit, or addition, please fill out the form at the bottom of the guide.

At this time, VMCCVB’s marketing and communication strategy will be to provide information to visitors that are here, now or later. We are devoting all efforts toward providing information and support to local residents and businesses and strengthen our relationships with our tourism partners by continuing to be a resource for them.

Visit Mountaineer Country CVB office closures

Due to Gov. Justice’s mandatory stay-at-home order, VMCCVB has officially closed its locations and the team will operate remotely. While our doors may be shut, we are hard at work continuing to adapt and overcome the ongoing tourism challenges at this time. We are still here to serve our community and partners from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday for any and all tourism-related needs.

Please feel free to give us a call at 304-292-5081 or email any of our staff, if you have any questions or concerns.

Tourism office seeks restaurant information
Following Justice’s recent executive order to limit operations at restaurants and bars, West Virginia Tourism Office wants to do its part to help those who are still open and operating.

The WVTO team is calling on all restaurant owners across the state to share updated hours of operation, available dining services and more. All collected data will be populated and promoted on WVtourism.com and across social channels. The goal is to share real-time information with residents and visitors on which dining establishments are open, operating and call out those who may be offering new carry out, drive-thru and delivery services.

If you have the time and resources to spare, please consider assisting the WVTO by completing the form at WVTourism.com/Dining-Map/Updates-And-Submissions and sharing it with other restaurants in the region.

Department of Education calls on hospitality industry

The West Virginia Department of Education is seeking partnerships with restaurants to prepare food for out-of-school students. The Department needs to identify restaurants from which counties can purchase prepared food to meet the nutritional needs of students during the COVID-19-related school closure.

If you are interested and have the capacity to participate, please fill out VMCCVB’s form at the bottom of the Mountaineer Country Community Resource Guide at VisitMountaineerCountry.com/Coronavirus. Then, complete this WVTO form at WVTourism.com/FoodPrep.
