Democrats should help
make U.S. great again
Here we go again with Steve Kopa’s (DP-Wednesday) opinions on how President Trump is staining the heart and soul of America. I could say the same about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her disciples.
I see nothing wrong with the president wanting to take the oil in the Middle East. Finally, we have a president who is demanding U.S. military forces be paid for their services to protect democracy and freedom throughout the world. He’s right, there is something wrong in America. It’s not about stains on an intern’s dress, either— he must have been having a flashback to President Clinton’ impeachment hearings.
It’s about Democrats refusing to accept defeat in the 2016 election. Democrats started belly-aching about impeaching Trump before he took office. It’s about Democrats that insist on incessantly trying to divide this country because they didn’t get their way.
Everything from the president’s alleged actions during the campaign to his finances have been investigated in attempts to gather evidence to impeach him. Enough.
What happened to the solidarity America modeled in the 1940s and 1950s? That’s when America was its strongest and most resilient. Your candidate may have not won but by God, you stood behind the one elected and supported him as a unified country.
Democrats should stop wasting our time and tax dollars to wear the president down and roll up their sleeves to help him make this country great again. Stop your whining.

This is how racism still
survives in our society

In a letter to the editor on (DP-Wednesday), D.M. Bennett commented on the impeachment process currently underway.
Without explanation or reason, the writer states that “All the witnesses were a bunch of losers …” To make sure nobody misses her disdain for them, the statement is reinforced with “Most of them were foreigners who became U.S. citizens.”
Apparently, in Bennett’s view, to be an immigrant and naturalized citizen is a character flaw. However, the sentence says more about Bennett’s prejudices. This is how racism survives in society.
