Lock Congress in Capitol until they get to work
My, my where has the time gone? The American people could no doubt care less, but it took Republicans in Congress
24 years to get even for former President Nixon resigning as president.
President Nixon resigned rather than be impeached.
Democrat members of Congress have spent 21 years trying to get even for the impeachment of former president Bill Clinton.
These 535 members in Congress have had a war on drugs, a war on poverty, 30 years to come up with an immigration policy and no success on any of these issues. These members of Congress are just too busy trying to raise money for their next election and trying to get even for the next impeachment process.
I would love to see all 535 members of Congress locked in the Capitol Building and not let out of the building for any reason.
Surround the Capitol with the Capitol police, Washington, D.C., police and the National Guard. Do not let them out until such time as they start working for the American people.
I would guess these folks in Congress would get tired of each other in short order and agree to work together on issues that are important to the American people. Wishful thinking on my part.

Republicans blamed for
what Democrats mess up
I just read in The Dominion Post, Oct. 16, where Betty L. Wiley said Republicans are on the wrong side of history. Too bad you can’t say that is your opinion as a Democrat, just like Steve Kopa is always declaring a bunch of untruths. He just repeats what he hears on CNN and MSNBC. God help us all if the Democrats get in (charge again).
The roads are in the shape that they are in because of the Democrats. The Republicans get blamed for everything that the Democrats messed up. I can tell a Democrat a half mile away. Why? How? Well, because they walk without smiling, their hand out in front of them and one shoulder down, because they have not gotten enough freebies from the hardworking people.
I doubt if the newspaper will print this because the newspaper has become so liberal. I would stop getting the newspaper, but I like to read Dear Abby and my horoscope. Have you noticed how thin the newspaper is? I guess that tells us something. No news unless it’s from Associate Press, which I could care less about.

We can do better for
immigrants at border
I have often stated that before our children turn 18 they should visit a Third World country for 30 days to understand how blessed we are in the United States.
Those people that cross our border suffer great misery before their migration to the United States. They risk their lives and their children.
Why would you treat them worse by demonizing them, separating them from their family. Oh yes, and don’t forget seizing their parents while the children are in school.
The poorest people in this country don’t come near to the hardships of those crossing our border. Yes, I’m including those living on the streets and in tents. We as a nation can accommodate the many folks that cross our border.
For example just think of the amount of food dumped in the trash in our homes and restaurants? I have heard all the rhetoric, pros and cons of those crossing the border.
Have you looked at the landscape in Kansas, New Mexico and Arizona as well as Texas to build housing for these people. And then there’s the state of Alaska. We can put the men and women to work building these homes and apartments, too.
Let’s not forget the graduate teachers and medical staff who would like their student debt reduced. We can put them to work teaching the children writing, math and English.
The cages need to be closed. The concentration camps need to be emptied because we need to have sensible immigration reform. The Lord blessed this nation above all others and we can do better.
