Trinity defeats Cameron 59-42 to win 1A OVAC championship

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio — Trinity had a strong defensive performance in its 59-42 victory over Cameron in the OVAC 1A championship.

The win gave the Warriors back-to-back OVAC championships for the first time in school history.

“It’s pretty cool for the kids to complete school history,” Trinity coach John Fowkes said. “This feels real good for the boys.”

The Warriors struggled offensively, making just two 3-pointers in the game, but their defense was the difference in the game. They held Cameron to just 14 field goals in the game.

Daniel Woods led Trinity (15-5) in scoring with 15 points and Joel Robertson had 12 points. Woods was named MVP of the tournament.

The Warriors will play again at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Tucker County.
