Glenn Edwin Hardesty, 56, of Terra Alta, died Monday, April 2, 2018, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Glenn was born June 7, 1961, in Oakland, Md., a son of Lawrence Edwin Hardesty, of Terra Alta, and Gladys Arlene (Bowser) Porter, of Oakland.
He attended Loch Lynn Church of God, in Oakland. Glenn owned and operated Working H. Meats & Markets, in Friendsville, Md., and Working H. Farms, where he would sell at the Morgantown Farmers Market and Mountain Fresh Farmers Market.
Glenn built the Aldersgate Center Chapel, in Cranesville, Pentecostal Church of Corinth and the Front Page Stage, behind the Republican Newspaper. Glenn was the former clerk of the works for the Preston County schools system.
In addition to his parents, Glenn is survived by his wife of 34 years, Terrie Jo (Haynie) Hardesty; two sons, Grant Edwin Hardesty and girlfriend, Courtney Dewitt, of Terra Alta, and Justin William Hardesty, of Terra Alta; two brothers and spouses, Gary and Jennifer Hardesty, of Virginia, and Greg and Kelly Hardesty, of Cranesville; and two sisters and spouse, Janet and Kenny Alexander, of Oakland, and Beverly Barb, of Oakland.
A celebration of life will be held at Anchor Church, 827 First Ave., Friendsville, Md. at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 7, with Pastor Mike Robinson officiating.
The family would like casual attire and to invite guests to refreshments following the service.
