Rostraver Township, Pa.
William A. Smith Jr., 82, of Rostraver Township, Pa., died Monday, July 27, 2026. Born in North Charleroi, Pa., on July 4, 1944, he was the son of the late William A. Smith Sr. and Alice Weisner Smith.
Bill was a 1962 graduate of Rostraver High School and always participated in the RHS class reunions and get togethers. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from West Virginia University in 1967. Over the years, he worked many jobs, but his love was working on the Smith Farm, milking cows. He was also active working on his family home and building the rock wall out of WV sandstone.
He was a longtime member of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church, where he served as Session Member, Trustee, Treasurer and also served on the Nursery School Board. He loved greeting all the folks who attended the Rehoboth Church dinners.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Petrich Smith; son, Troy Smith of Graceton Pa.; daughter, Nikki (Ken) Samoda of Fallowfield Township, Pa.; grandchildren: Hayley (Tyler) King, Jeremy (Jessica) Shannon, Aaron Shannon (Kayla Heilman), Heather (Devon) Moody and Jennifer (Jeremy) Selan; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth King, Abigail King, Josephine Shannon, Elsie Moody, Levi Moody, Bailey Moody and Jordan Selan; siblings: Tim Smith of Morgantown, Candy Anderson of Kans., Penny (Russ) Moon of Rostraver, Pa., David (Patty) Smith of Rostraver, Pa. and Jeff (Betty Rae) Smith of Gillespie; brother-in-law, Joe Petrich of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister-in-law, Alice (Jim) Radabaugh of Newcomerstown Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Tim Anderson and John Petrich.

Additional viewing will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday in Rehoboth Presbyterian Church, 442 Rehoboth Road, Belle Vernon, where the Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. followed by interment in Rehoboth Cemetery.
