Kenneth O’Neal, Jr. was freed from this world Thursday, April 23, 2026. He was born June 23, 1943 to Kenneth O’Neal and Annamae O’Neal in Morgantown.
Ken is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Nancy O’Neal; his siblings, Deborah Childers, Patricia Hauser, and Terrance O’Neal; his daughter, Annette Imbody; and his two grandchildren, Kelsey and Jesse Glanz.
He was lovingly known as “Pap” to his wife, daughter, grandchildren, and countless others whose lives were all positively affected by him. He was generous in every fiber of his being, and is remembered fondly by the community as being a man who gave endlessly.
In his career years, Pap was an electrical engineer and proud Air Force veteran.
During his retirement, he assisted in a range of community projects from cleaning small islands on Lake Norman to building a large addition to the stage at Lake Norman High School. He gave to the people he loved and his community with his whole heart.
His final days were spent next to his wife, Nancy—always his angel, always a team. Though his family and friends are heartbroken to lose him, every heart is grateful for the time Ken O’Neal was present in their lives. He will be remembered with infinite love by all whose lives he touched.
Family and friends are invited to gather in the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, 10 S. High Street, Morgantown, WV 26501, Saturday, May 2, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m., with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.
Kenneth will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
