Judith Ann Haught, known lovingly as Judy, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Mor-gantown, West Virginia, at the age of 85, with her loving family by her side. Born on January 4, 1941, in Morgantown, Judy was a daughter of the late James Carl and Thelma Lucas Newbraugh.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Linda Kay Neville; her husband, Chester James Haught; and nephew, James “Jimmy” Neville. Judy lived her life in the community she called home, and she car-ried with her a deep con-nection to the people and places of Morgantown throughout her life.
Judy was a proud graduate of Morgantown High School and went on to build a life marked by hard work, dedication, and service to others. She served as the Director of Communications at Mon Health for more than 20 years, retiring in 1997 after a long and distinguished career. Judy was known as a workaholic in the best sense of the word, always giving her best to every responsibility she took on. In addition to her work at Mon Health, she owned several businesses over the years, with her last being Haught Diggity Dogz in Westover. Her strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit were admired by many.
Judy was also deeply involved in her community. She was a member of the American Legion Post #174 and faithfully ran the bingo hall for more than 20 years. Her commitment to that role reflected her dependable nature and her willingness to give her time and energy to others. She was respected for her steady presence, her sense of responsibility, and the kindness she showed to those around her.
Above all else, Judy loved her family and treasured the time she spent with them. She is survived by her sons, Scott Haught and Vickie Lynch, and Steve Haught. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Hunter Haught, Autumn Haught, Lukas Haught, Gunnar Haught, and Brodie Van-dergrift; as well as her niece, Lori Hunt. Her family was the center of her world, and she found great joy in being surrounded by those she loved.
Judy will be remem-bered as a loving woman whose life was defined by devotion, perseverance, and care for others. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the friendships she formed, the businesses she built, and the many lives she touched through her work and community involvement. She passed away in the same town where her life began, leaving behind a lasting example of strength, loy-alty, and love.
