
William Franklin “Bill” Austin, 52, of Morgantown, passed away early morning Friday, Oct. 9, 2020, at his home with his family by his side. Bill fought a long and courageous battle against
cancer.
Born Aug. 20, 1968 in Morgantown, Bill is the son of Edna Florence (Ault) Austin, who survives him in Morgantown, and the late William Carl Lamar.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his husband of six years, James Blaszak; his siblings, Jacquie Yost and her two sons, Andrew (spouse Kaylin, and their children Heston and Gentry) and Jacob, of Morgantown, and Jamie Austin and his son Cory, of Morgantown; and many other extended family members.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesse and Lucille Ault; and his sister-in-law, Shari Austin.
Bill graduated from Morgantown High School and West Virginia University. He was formerly employed by UBC, Valley Health Care and Teletech.
He never met a stranger and had a smile that could light-up a room. He loved flowers and animals.
At his request, Bill has been cremated.
Friends may join the family to honor Bill’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown from
5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16 until the time of the memorial service at 7 p.m. with Pastor Rick Shriver officiating. Face masks or coverings and social distancing are required. Please limit your visit with the family to
15 minutes or less.
