Robert Greaser

Robert B. Greaser, Sr., 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 7, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Dec. 6, 1930, in Morgantown, a son of the late Margaret Bickford and Joseph Bernard “J.B.” Greaser; he was the oldest of three children.

Bob was a member of Saint Sebastian Catholic Church. He graduated from Morgantown High School in the Class of 1948. He was center for the basketball team and was their star player. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a jet mechanic. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
Bob and his wife, “Boots,” owned and operated Greaser’s Amoco on the corner of Route 7 and
26 in Kingwood for many years. He worked for the U.S. Postal service in Kingwood for 30 years. He walked 12 miles a day delivering mail for 13 years and was a postal clerk for
17 years. He was also a farmer and enjoyed raising cattle and gardening. He enjoyed taking drives and having picnics with his wife.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara “Boots” Greaser; three daughters, Kimberly Scott (Steve), of Kingwood, Melissa Thomas (Don), of Virginia Beach, Va., Kara Komula (Matthew), of Rices Landing, Pa.; one son Robert Greaser, Jr. (Sonia), of Terra Alta; 10 grandchildren, Bethany and Wesley Scott, Jordana and Ian Thomas, Dane Greaser (Quynh), Chelsey McMillian (Matt), Karly and Casey Wilson and Amanda and Gwyneth Komula; four great-grandchilden, Jocelyn and Alanna Goodlin, Barret Greaser and Sunny McMillian; sister-in-law, Patricia Greaser, of Terra Alta; brother-in-law, Fred Koch, of Kingwood; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Greaser, and a sister, Carolyn “Kate” Koch.

Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta, from 4-8 p.m., Monday, with a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. There will be a mass of Christian Burial held at Saint Sebatian Catholic Church in Kingwood, at 11 a.m. Tuesday May 11, with burial following in the Saint Joseph’s Cemetery in Howesville with graveside military services provided by Preston County Honors.
