James Biser

James “Al” Biser passed away peacefully on April 30, after a courageous battle with esophagus cancer. He was born Jan. 17, 1948, in Morgantown, the son of the late Lloyd and Rosalie Biser.

Al was a 1966 graduate of Morgantown High School and attended Fairmont State. Al was a union painter (Local 804) for over 35 years. He also held the position of recording secretary for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Danna, of 22 years; son, Jason DeBerry and fiancé Ashley; stepson, Paul and wife Missy, of Delaware; and stepson, Matthew and wife Jodie, of Pennsylvania. He is survived by grandchildren, Alex, Lyndsey, Ivy, Kyrstin and Ryker; and a nephew, Eric, of Morgantown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ed and Jeff.

The family would like to thank the staff of Amedisys Hospice Care, Dr. Arthur, Dr. Johnson and their staff and Zelda Stein Cancer Center. Also, we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

At Al’s request, cremation will be handled by Hastings Funeral Home. A celebration of his wonderful life will take place this summer.
