Jesse Raines

Jesse Lynn Raines, 27, of Fairview, died suddenly Friday, April 16, 2021, at his residence. He was born Aug. 23, 1993, in Fairmont, a son of David W. Raines, of Farmington, and Sherry Lynn Eddy (Ricky) Forquer.

Jesse was a coal miner, formerly at the Blacksville No. 2 mine, and most recently at Loveridge. He was a 2011 graduate of Clay-Battelle High School where he played varsity football. He was a member of the UMWA, enjoyed fishing with his cousins, Michael and Katlyn Van Gilder, and was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast. He was an amazing stepfather and even more amazing Daddy.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his girlfriend, Brandi N. Search, of Fairview; his daughter, Kenzleigh Lynn Raines; his stepdaughter, Taylynn Elise Hunt, both at home; his brothers, Josh Raines and fiancé Shawna Eddy, of North Carolina, and Jonathen David Raines, of Fairview; stepbrothers, Ricky A. (Ashley) Forquer and Zachery Nicholas Forquer, both of Daybrook; his grandparents: Russ and Delores Kennedy, Richard and Linda Eddy and Doris Forquer; aunts: Tammy (Mike) VanGilder, Rachel (Emily) Eddy, Elizabeth (Gary) Eddy and Thelma Raines; uncles: Frank (Kim) Raines, John “Matt” Raines, Doug Loar, James (Michelle) Eddy, Donald (Kathy) Forquer and John Forquer; nieces, Adalyn and Aleena Forquer; and several cousins, extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Gertrude Raines; and grandfather, Don Forquer.

Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home, 3171 Husky Highway, Farmington, from 2-8 p.m., Tuesday, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Chad Hutson officiating. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery at Farmington.

In accordance with the governor’s mandate, masks and strict social distancing are respectfully required.
