Lois Sanetrik

Lois Jean (Baker) Sanetrik, 83, of Stewartstown, Pa., died Tuesday, April 6, 2021, in Mount Pleasant, S.C., following a lengthy illness. Born in Gans, Pa., on May 23, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Omar C. and Emma Alice (Lyons) Baker.

She was a proud 1955 graduate of Point Marion High School and enjoyed staying in contact with the classmates who were so special to her. She loved telling stories about playing her saxophone for the marching band. For many years, Lois was involved with the All-Class Reunion at the former High School. She had formerly worked at the Gallatin Bank in Point Marion, Pa., and later as a labeler at the Forks-of-Cheat Winery in Stewartstown, Pa.

Roman Catholic by faith, her devout unshakable faith in God kept her strong through the hard times of life, thankful during the joyous times and in sincere appreciation of all He created.
Lois had a kindness and genteelness that touched everyone she knew. She always had a smile that came from her heart. Her family was her pride and joy. The only regret was that her husband Johnny died before they could enjoy grandparenting together.

Surviving are her children, John Kevin (Janet) Sanetrik, Cynthia (Roger) Barber, Christina (Randy) Dell, Brian Sanetrik (Robin Barnhart) and Catherine (Robert) Clarke; grandchildren, Ryan (Tabatha) Barber, Brandon (Deborah) Barber, Travis (Rachel) Barber, Luke (Kristina) Barber, Nicole (Neil) O’Hara, Michael Saffron, Rachel (Jorge) Lujan, Jonathan Sanetrik, Valerie Sanetrik, Lauren Sanetrik, Dallas Clarke and Caitlin Clarke; step-grandchildren, Donald Murray and Tracy Murray Bourne; and great-grandchildren; Hayes, Carter and Beau O’Hara, Alex, Easton and Elizabeth Barber, Trey, Virginia, Charlotte and Tamsin Barber, McKenzie Walsh and Jorge and Julian Lujan. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Virginia Springer, of Elizabeth, Pa., and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death is her husband, John T. Sanetrik, on May 20, 1983; a sister, Eleanor Baker Lanham; two nephews, Robert and Gary Springer; and her dearest friend, Mary Jane Hunter.
Friends will be received at the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, 501 Morgantown St., Point Marion, Pa. 15474, from 4-8 p.m., Friday, April 16. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Hubert Roman Catholic Church, 9 Sadler St., Point Marion, Pa., at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 17., with the Rev. Fr. Douglas Dorula as celebrant.
