Arthur Lee Boden, 91, of Mount Morris, Pa., died at 10:03 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2021, at home following a lengthy illness.
He was born Friday, March 14, 1930, in Bobtown, Pa., a son of the late Norman Asbury Boden and Anna Mae Keefer Boden.
Arthur was affiliated with the Mount Morris United Methodist Church. He was a Veteran, having served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and having earned the Bronze Star with a valor device. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #66 F& AM in Morganfield, Ky. He loved fishing and deer hunting. Arthur was the former deputy game and fishing warden. He also loved woodworking and landscaping. Arthur was a member of the United Mine Workers and the 2nd Infantry Division Korean War Veterans Alliance. He was a coal miner, having worked at the Shannopin Coal Mine in Bobtown, Pa., retiring in 1992.
His wife, Mona Kathleen Boden, whom he married on Aug. 1, 1951, died Sept. 6, 2012.
Surviving are two daughters, Mona L. Boden- St. Clair and her husband Pat, of Mount Morris, Pa., and Nanda G. Boden- Cortez, of Waynesburg, Pa.; one son, Neil V. Boden and his wife Sandra, of Beckley; three grandchildren, Gavin W. St. Clair, Todd P. Cortez, and Kara L. Cortez; one great-granddaughter, Kathleen Gloria Cottrell; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Boden was the last of his immediate family.
Deceased are several brothers and sisters.
At the request of the family there will be no public visitation or service. Private graveside services and burial will be at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mount Morris. Graveside Military Honors will be accorded by the James T. Maxon American Legion Post #992 in Mount Morris. Milliken and Throckmorton FH, Inc. Daryl L. Throckmorton Owner/Director, 324 Mt.
