James Baylor

James Allen Baylor, 67, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, at Preston Memorial Hospital with family by his side. He was born June 10, 1953, in Grafton, son of the late Edmund R. “Ed” and Dora Lucille Sinclair Baylor.

Baylor graduated from Fellowsville High School, Class of 1971, and attended Fairmont State College. He had worked at Sterling Faucet, Department of Highways, Lowell Larew Crushing and, in 1978, started in the trucking business, owning Jenny Lou Trucking and then Do It LLC. Baylor enjoyed farming, going to auctions, riding his Harley, heavy equipment, trucking, traveling, all his boxers and loved telling big, funny stories.

Baylor is survived by his wife, Gail Strawderman Baylor, of Marquess; three children, Shelly Lipscomb Lambert and Larry, of York Run, James Lowell Baylor, of Marquess, and Jennifer Lou Clair Baylor Nine and Billy, of Belington; five grandchildren, Gennifer Friend and Nathan, McKayla Lambert, Georgia Baylor Larew, Kendell Baylor Nine and Eisen Baylor Nine; five great-grandchildren, Ryhatt, Weylon, Kenna, Briar and Trevor; and Cam Phillips, who was like a brother, and Peggy, of Thornton. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by one sister, Lou Rae Baylor.

Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave., Newburg, from 3-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, and from 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, until time of service at 11 a.m. with Rocky Ridenour officiating with proper distancing and face mask required. Interment will follow at the Mount Zion Cemetery, Moatsville.
