Leonard Ray Jackson, 67, of Kingwood, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2021 at Mon Health Medical Center, Morgantown with his family by his side.
He was born Jan. 26, 1953, in Corinth, a son of the late John C. and Theada Lantz Jackson.
He worked as a security guard at Alpine Lake and loved to fish and play board games with family.
He is survived by his son, Jason Verbonitz and wife Sue, of Terra Alta; his brother, James Jackson, of Kingwood; his twin sister, Linda Shockey, of Summit Point, and sister, JoAnne Connor, of Valley Point; five grandchildren, Jenny, Justin and Rebecca Verbonitz, Alisa Hillary and Lora Lothry; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by daughter, Rebecca Jo Verbonitz; four brothers, David Lantz, John E. Jackson, Jerry Jackson and Louis Lantz; and his sister, Dorothy Bickford.
Friends may call at the Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood from noon-2 p.m., the funeral hour, on Sunday, Jan. 24, with the Rev. Ray Frankhouser officiating. Interment will follow in the Terra Alta Cemetery.
The family would like to give special thanks to Madonna Dilsworth for her friendship and care of Leonard.
Masks and social distancing will be observed during the visitation and funeral.
