Frances Joanne Golden, 84, of Morgantown, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020, at her residence. She was born on July 22, 1936, daughter of the late Fred Darvin and Rose Mary (Venetta) Golden.
Frances graduated with a master’s degree from WVU in education and was an elementary school teacher in Monongalia County for over 40 years, teaching at Ridgedale, Second Ward, and finally Mountain View Elementary, retiring in 2001. She was an active member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where, over the years, she sang in the choir and was often a reader.
Frances is survived by her son, Eric Golden; grandson, Quinn Golden; sister, Sandra Bonnett; and nephew, Elijah Schrader.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, One Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, WV 26508.
There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, One Guthrie Lane, Morgantown beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13 with the Rev. Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati S.T.D. as celebrant. Inurnment will take place at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
