Barbara White

Barbara Kay White, 72, of Morgantown, passed away Monday morning, Aug. 3, 2020, at her residence.

She was born July 25, 1948, a daughter of the late Clarence Marcus and Kathryn McGee White.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Beth Sandala and husband Dennis, of Bluemont, Va.; and her nieces and nephews, including Zachary Marcus White, his wife Marisa and their three children, of Marion, Ark., Allison White Mogyoros and her husband Jaad, of Morgantown, Benjamin Sandala and his wife Kelly, of Bristow, Va., and Robert Hussion and his wife Tracie Fann, of Florissant, Mo.

Barbara was proud to be able to spend her entire teaching career in Morgantown with Suncrest Junior High and Middle Schools, and University High School. She was a dedicated educator for many years, and a member of the West Virginia Education Association and the National Education Association, serving as a delegate to many of their conventions.

Barbara loved her dogs and cherished spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Friends may join the family to honor Barbara’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Morgantown from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6. A service to celebrate her life will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Following the service, Barbara will be cremated, and she will be inurned with her parents at a later date in the Maplewood Cemetery in Elkins.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a contribution in Barbara’s memory to any charity which benefits the welfare of animals.
