MUB begins construction on University Avenue

 On Sunday, Morgantown Utility Board began work along University Avenue in support of West Virginia Division of Highways roundabout project. 

Work will be from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. Sunday-Wednesday,  and will continue for about four weeks. The road will reopen during non-work hours.

During work hours, University Avenue will be closed from the intersection with Collins Ferry Road and Baldwin Street to Laurel Street/Pocahontas Avenue, with through traffic detoured along Collins Ferry Road, Aspen Street and Junior Avenue.

When work on University Avenue is complete, MUB crews will begin work on the Collins Ferry Road portion of the project. The public will be notified prior to that start date.

The total project involves the installation of eight stormwater manholes, 380 feet of 15-inch stormwater pipe, seven sanitary sewer manholes,375 feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer pipe, and 555 feet of water pipe.
