Clifford Stevens

Clifford Edwin Stevens, 95, of Morgantown, and formerly of Enterprise and Rivesville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Mon Health Medical Center.

Cliff was born April 24, 1925, in Mannington, a son of the late Leonard “Doc” and Ocie (Wright) Stevens.

Survivors include his daughter, Sandra McComas, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; his grandson, Steven McComas, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a step-granddaughter, Francie Phillips and her husband Mike, of Ormond Beach, Fla.; a step-great-granddaughter, Mickie Greenhalgh and her husband Kyle, of Ormond Beach, Fla.; and a step-great-great-grandson, Jude Greenhalgh.

Additionally, he is survived by his nephews, Edward Glover and his wife Terry Ann, Daniel Glover and his wife Sue, Adam Michna, Steve Stiles and wife Ronda, Rob Kotti and Shawn Snyder and wife Christie; his nieces, Marcia Peoples and husband Jim, and Shannon Bachman and husband Randy; a sister-in-law, Jan Stiles, a brother-in-law, Rodney Snyder and his wife Teresa; as well as several great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his spouses, Mary Frances Stevens and Patricia Ann “Dutch” Stevens; a sister, Ethel Michna; and a son-in-law, Bill McComas.

Cliff was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II. He was a fan of NASCAR and would attend the Daytona
500 every year in his younger years. Cliff also enjoyed fishing and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates Fan.

Family and friends may join to honor Cliff’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown from 10 a.m. Thursday, July 16 until the time of the funeral service at noon. Following the funeral service, Cliff will be laid to rest at the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery where Full Military Honors will be accorded.

Flowers are appreciated and accepted by the family. However, contributions in Cliff’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The family wishes to thank Lori Rankin, the Director of Assisted Living at Evergreen and her compassionate and amazing staff for the care they have provided, in addition to the wonderful staff of WV Caring Hospice for the care and concern they provided in his final days.
