
Philip N. Lightner, 80, of Hundred, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020, with his family by his side. Born at home, June 14, 1939, on Wolf Run, Marshall County, W.Va., to the late Dale and Julia (Whipkey) Lightner.
Philip graduated from Cameron High School in 1957. In July of 1960 he married Charmaine Strait and they were happily married for almost 60 years. He attended the Hundred United Methodist Church. Phil was employed with Frontier Communications for 31 years in Hundred and upon his retirement was a Central Office Technician. He was extremely involved in the Hundred Area Pride Organization that included the Rails to Trails and other projects for the betterment of the community. Phil was also a former member of the Hundred Town Council. He enjoyed woodworking, his computer, photography and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Kelley (David) Caprio, of Worthington, Ohio; two grandchildren, Lena (Lewis) Raibley, of Brookline, Mass., and Domenick Caprio, of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Shirley Higginson, Ruth Ann (Chuck) Sincavage and Wilda Kocher; one brother-in-law, Don (Franes) Strait.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, in Centennial Cemetery, Aleppo, Pa., with Evangelist Steve Stevens, officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181.
