Age: 56

Residence: Kingwood

Education:  High school, black seal low pressure boiler license, West Virginia journeyman electrician, West Virginia residential HVAC technician.

Political and civic experience: Over the years, I have served on several homeowner association boards as both a board member and as board president.

Professional experience: I am   a lead (foreman) at West Virginia University Facilities Maintenance. I hold licenses in low pressure boiler operation, West Virginia journeyman electrician and West Virginia residential HVAC technician. I also owned a commercial cleaning and maintenance business for 18 years.

Campaign statement: I feel I can use my personal and professional experience to help give knowledgeable input to the rest of the board in maintenance and operational issues. My years of working in the various building trades makes me uniquely able to help the board make informed choices on how best to utilize the money entrusted to the board by the county taxpayers.

Top priorities: I have reviewed school expenses. After salaries and benefits, the next largest expenditure is utilities. Utilities are projected to cost the school board over $1 million. I feel with my background in facilities maintenance, I will be able to assist the BOE to reduce utilities costs.  By reducing these costs, we can then focus our attention on maintaining/improving the infrastructure of the county’s school buildings. My responsibility will always be to the taxpayers of Preston County.
