Ronald Skidmore Jr.

Ronald “Ron” Lee Skidmore Jr., 46, of Philippi, graduated from Philip Barbour High School in 1992 and received his paramedic license from Fairmont State College in 1998. Ron has been a paramedic for over 22 years in five different counties in West Virginia. Ron was currently employed as a Lieutenant for the Randolph Co. EMS, where he has been working as a medic for almost 10 years. He was also the director of the Office of Emergency Management and 911 Center in Barbour County. Along with his busy careers, he was a 20-year instructor at the WV State Fire Service Extension. For the last 30 years, Ron has been a volunteer fire fighter and he currently was the assistant chief of the Philippi Volunteer Fire Department. He was a former employee of the city of Morgantown as a paid fireman. Ron has spent all of his adult life serving his community, training other first responders and saving lives.

Ron married his high school sweetheart in 1999 and are proud parents of two sons, Gabriel Michael, age 15, and 2-year-old Aleczander Gabriel. He is also survived by his mother Diana (Philips) Skidmore, sister, Krystal Pharis, brothers, Michael Skidmore, Jeffrey Skidmore and wife Stephanie, Kevin Skidmore and wife Miranda. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his father Ronald Lee Skidmore Sr.

A graveside service will be held at Jerusalem Cemetery at 3 p.m., Sunday May 24, with the Rev. Jimmie Tallman and Chaplain of Philippi Fire Department Rev. Bob Wilkins officiating.
