Man charged for felony wanton endangerment

KINGWOOD — A Terra Alta man was charged with three counts of felony wanton endangerment after allegedly shooting at a car.

According to the criminal complaint by Preston Deputy J.T. Knotts, Willie Isaiah Reid, 30, said, “he did not like that they were driving slow past his property” on Wednesday.

The three people who were in the car told police that Reid yelled and told them to leave and pointed a gun at the vehicle. They reported hearing three shots but did not know the direction they were fired.

Reid said he was arguing with the occupants of the car, according to the complaint. Reid was wearing an empty holster on his belt, the deputy said, but would not say if he fired a gun. When the deputy looked for shell casings, he said that Reid told him, “he was not stupid and he wouldn’t find anything.”

Knotts said he saw a car across from Reid’s home that “had multiple bullet holes all over it.” After obtaining a search warrant Thursday, the deputy found a Taurus Ultra Lite .38 Special revolver in Reid’s home.

Reid was also tased and charged with obstructing an officer because he refused to put his hands behind his back and appeared to be reaching for something when officers served the search warrant.
