Woman breaks into home mid-day Wednesday

KINGWOOD — A woman released on bond for failure to appear at a hearing is accused of then breaking into a home and falsely claiming she had permission to use a truck.

Kingwood Police Officer G.M. McNemar charged Kara Jeananne Rudd, 31, of Tunnelton, with daytime burglary and breaking and entering on Wednesday.

According to court records, Rudd was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear at a bond revocation hearing, then released Wednesday on bond.

The criminal complaint by McNemar says Rudd then got into a vehicle parked on Price Street and went through it. Only gloves appeared to be missing, McNemar said.

Kingwood Police and Preston Sheriff’s deputies began searching for the alleged thief. They received a call from a High Street resident who said he saw Rudd walking out the front door of his home, where she had forced her way in.

The officer was told Rudd took several pieces of clothing from the home and had them in a bag in a parked truck. Rudd told police the truck belonged to her uncle and she had permission to use it, according to the complaint, but the owner said he didn’t know her and she should not have been in the vehicle.

Rudd became belligerent and kicked the officer twice in the legs while being arrested, McNemar wrote.
