The United Way of Mon. and Preston Counties hosts Mountaineer Food Bank giveaway

KINGWOOD — The United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties and Food for Preston recently organized a Mountaineer Food Bank food giveaway, which will be held Friday at the Craig Civic Center in Kingwood.

A Mountaineer Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry truck will be there from 11 a.m.—1 p.m., and those in need of food are encouraged to attend the event.

The Craig Civic Center is at 311 Tunnelton St., Kingwood.

Those who would like food should stay in their vehicles and line up at the Price Street entrance to the Buckwheat Fairgrounds. They will be directed to the Civic Center parking lot, where the food will be loaded by volunteers into vehicles. The food distribution ends at 1 p.m. or when the food runs out. There are no income guidelines, but every person receiving food must complete a USDA form.

United Way and Food for Preston hope to make the food distribution in Preston County a monthly event.
