Charles Shaw

Charles Rader Shaw, 65, of Grafton, passed away Feb. 21, 2020, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.

He was born Sept. 21, 1954, in Grafton, to William Franklin and Marion Christine (Carpenter) Shaw.

Charlie graduated from Grafton High School and West Virginia University with a degree in Geography. He was a musician, songwriter and, a retired railroad brakeman/conductor. He loved to travel, read, play his guitars and keyboards and spend time with his cats.

Charlie is survived by his wife, JaNeille McKim Shaw; his son, Charles Justin Shaw, of Carolina, W.Va.; two sisters, Christine “Kisne” Shaw, of Morgantown, and Amy Shaw Brooks, of Grafton; and four nieces and their families: Lori LeMasters Heinlein, of Cranberry Township, Pa., Sarah LeMasters Price, of Grafton, Teresa Shaw Rose, of Maitland, Fla, and Susan Brooks, of Washington, D.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother, William Franklin (Bill) Shaw Jr.

In accordance to Charles’s wishes, cremation services are being provided by Hastings Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Morgantown, at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27. He will be inurned at Woodsdale Memorial Gardens at a later date.
