West Virginia baseball team heads to Myrtle Beach invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The West Virginia baseball team travels to the Brittain Resorts Invitational on Friday, in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

WVU is set to play four games in three days at the event, beginning with a matchup against Kennesaw State on Friday. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Park.

From there, the Mountaineers take on Saint Joseph’s at 2 p.m. Saturday, before two games close the weekend on Sunday. First, WVU battles Illinois at 10 a.m., before traveling to nearby Conway, S.C., for the weekend finale at 4 p.m. against Coastal Carolina.

The Mountaineers and Chanticleers were originally scheduled to meet Monday. Due to severely cold temperatures today and impending weather in the Myrtle Beach area Monday, however, several changes were made to the event’s schedule.

Fans can follow along with the team all weekend long with help from live stats Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning. A live stream of WVU’s matchup against Coastal Carolina will be available, courtesy of the Chanticleer Sports Network.
