Bicyclist killed in Bruceton Mills accident

KINGWOOD — A 37-year-old Bruceton Mills man was killed in an accident Monday afternoon near Bruceton Mills, according to the West Virginia State Police.

Robin Ames was pronounced dead at the scene of the 5:15 p.m. accident, according to a news release.

The investigation continues and charges are pending, according to police.

Troopers said Ames was riding a bicycle west on Old Route 73 when he was hit by a Chevrolet Equinox driven by Tara Evans of Bruceton Mills, who was also westbound.

Evans was taken to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital by Bruceton Ambulance.

Units from the Preston County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
