Stewart Street water woes on the way out

Morgantown Utility Board crews continued efforts Monday to improve road problems across from Shorty Anderson’s Auto Service, at 908 Stewart St.

Last week, MUB spokesman Chris Dale said the utility is working to fix drainage along Kingston Drive, where it intersects with Stewart Street, by installing 40 feet of 16-inch ductile iron culvert beneath Kingston Drive. Dale said MUB is also improving the ditch line along Kingston.

The ditch across from Shorty Anderson’s Auto Service is lined with stone to control water flow.

A letter from MUB to the West Virginia Division of Highways dated Jan. 21 explains that based on testing conducted by the utility, the water is coming from a natural source, which flows underground and surfaces through the pavement.
