Tickets now on sale for gymnastics Big 12 Championship

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Tickets for the gymnastics Big 12 Championship, to be held at the WVU Coliseum on March 21, are now on sale through the Mountaineer Ticket Office.

Tickets are $8 for adults, and groups of 10 or more can receive a special group rate of $5 per person. Discounted youth tickets will be made available the day of the meet. Additionally, tickets for WVU students are free with a valid student I.D.

Fans can purchase tickets by visiting wvugame.com, calling 1-800-WVU-GAME or at the Mountaineer Ticket Office, located at the Gold Gate of the WVU Coliseum. All tickets are general admission.

Also, the WVU gymnastics team continues to rank in the top 25 of the Road to Nationals Rankings on floor exercise.

The Mountaineers (3-4, 0-1) rank in the top 25 on floor for the second consecutive week, checking in at No. 21. WVU earned its event ranking based on a season average of 48.981. West Virginia sits just outside the top 25 on uneven bars at No. 26 (48.819 avg.). WVU also ranks No. 34 on vault (48.731 avg.) and No. 35 on balance beam (48.644 avg.).

Ranked No. 24 in last week’s rankings, the Mountaineers fell to No. 26 (195.175 avg.) overall following a third-place, 194.85 showing at George Washington’s quad meet on Jan. 31.

Reigning national champion and fellow Big 12 member Oklahoma ranks No. 1 this week with a 197.763 season average.

WVU continues to rank No. 4 overall in the Big 12. The Mountaineers also sit at No. 4 in all four events.

West Virginia remains on the road this week and heads to Durham, N.H., for a quad meet against host New Hampshire (4-2, 2-0 EAGL), George Washington (8-4, 0-1) and Brown (4-6, 1-1 ECAC) at 7 p.m. Saturday.
