Replacement Power

Mon Power workers replaced a telephone pole on the corner of Spruce and Walnut streets on Wednesday — shutting down one lane on Walnut for part of the day.

Lauren Siburkis, a Mon Power representative, said pole replacement typically takes half a day and usually doesn’t cause any service interruption for customers.

“A vehicle hit the existing pole a few weeks ago, causing it to splinter and need replaced,” Michaela Martin, communications specialist for the City of Morgantown, said in an email.
