Here is a sampling of bills introduced Jan. 24. Local lead sponsors and co-sponsors, if any, are noted.

HB 4524, to make the entire state “wet” for alcohol sales; counties cold vote to go dry but wet towns would be grandfathered.

HB 4530, to allow rental car companies to charge reasonable administrative fees under certain circumstances.

HB 4531, the County Budget Flexibility Act, to allow counties to deposit unspent funds from a fiscal year into a Future Needs Fund.

HB 4532, to consider an attack based on perceived or actual sexual orientation, gender identity or disability as a felony hate crime. Delegate Danielle Walker, D-Monongalia, lead sponsor; Delegates Rodney Pyles, Evan Hansen, John Williams, all D-Mon, co-sponsors.

HB 4539, to permit qualifying patients to grow and cultivate up to 10 cannabis plants for their own use with no more than five reaching maturity simultaneously. Walker, co-sponsor.

HB 4542, the Clean Drinking Waer Act, to reduce the level of toxic, possibly carcinogenic PFAs in the environment and strengthen the economy. It would identify where PFASs are being used and discharged, and require the dischargers to disclose those discharges so they can be regulated. Hansen, lead sponsor; Walker and Barbara Evans Fleischauer, D-Mon, co-sponsor.

HCR 34, to place at least 10 additional signs along highways entering West Virginia honoring fallen veterans and Gold Star Families. Delegate Linda Longstreth, D-Marion, lead sponsor; Fleischauer, Dave Pethtel, D-Wetzel, Michael Angelucci, D-Marion, co-sponsors.

HJR 108, to create a nonpartisan citizen redistricting commission. Hansen, Walker, co-sponsors.
