Former WVU offensive lineman Josh Sills headed to Oklahoma State

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia will be seeing an old friend over the next two seasons on the football field.

Josh Sills, who entered the transfer portal in December after spending the last four seasons win the Mountaineers, is heading to Oklahoma State, he announced Tuesday on his Twitter.

Sills saying he has two years remaining indicates that he will receive a medical redshirt after playing just two games in 2019. After the Missouri game in Week 2, Sills had surgery that ended his season. He was supposed to be the most experienced interior linemen and his absence was felt — redshirt freshmen James Gmiter and Briason Mays, as well has junior Chase Behrndt, got a majority of the snaps at guard and center.

Sills replaced an injured Grant Lingafelter in the 2017 season-opener against Virginia and became a mainstay on the offensive line over the next few years. He had 24 starts — 23 at guard and one at center.

The Cowboys will be in need of a left guard next season with the graduation of Marcus Keyes.
