Woman charged with attempted murder

KINGWOOD — A Tunnelton woman was charged with attempted murder and strangulation after she allegedly kicked in a door and attacked a man in his home.
Ashley Nichole Miller, 29, was in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail Friday in lieu of $200,000 bond.

The victim and the accused know each other.

According to the criminal complaint by State Police Trooper A.L. Barnette:

Preston 911 received a call of a domestic disturbance in progress on Childers Lane Thursday night.

The man told police Miller had kicked in the door of the home, entered and began destroying property and hit him in the face several times, then began to strangle him with both hands.

He “lost his breath and became ‘light headed,’ ” and feared for his life, according to the complaint.

Miller stopped strangling the man, went to the kitchen and got a butcher knife. She approached the man, who was on a couch, grabbed him by the throat with her left hand and held the knife 12 to 16 inches from his throat with her right hand, while making jerking motions.

Miller, “shouted, ‘I should just kill you,’ ” according to the complaint.

A witness agreed with the victim’s recitation of events and also thought Miller was going to kill the man. The witness grabbed the knife after Miller dropped it.

Both charges are felonies. Miller was arraigned Friday in Preston Magistrate Court.
