Ail Hospitality LLC officially takes over Lakeview Golf Resort

Lakeview Golf Resort has officially changed hands, with Rockville, Md.-based Ail Hospitality LLC taking over ownership of the 412-acre resort.

Sameer Ailawadi, owner of Ail Hospitality, said room and event reservations are being accepted at Lakeview, which is once again open year-round. There are also plans for a grand-reopening of the bar and restaurant.

“More to come on that soon,” Ailawadi said.

Ailawadi’s company had a successful online bid of $2.5 million in the fall for the resort, its two golf courses, time share condos and other amenities.

Ailawadi, who owns eight hotel properties in Maryland, Pennsylvania and suburban Washington, D.C., said there are no plans to change the name of the property, which includes the 187-room hotel.

“We have a wedding at Lakeview this weekend, and have a large group of over 140 people staying with us the last week in December,” Ailawadi said in
an email.

“We were hoping to have more holiday parties this year at Lakeview, but it appears people may have made plans elsewhere because we were closed under the previous ownership. We are definitely open and would be very excited to host any corporate or social events that people may want to book with us on a short notice,” he said.

Ailawadi said previously Lakeview will keep its traditional look, but the guest rooms will be spruced up with new bedding and carpets.

Ail may also eventually align the hotel with a national company sometime during the first quarter of next year. Ail owns a Radisson in Rockville, Md.

“We are still considering national brand affiliation, though the decision has not been made yet. The name Lakeview will definitely stay even if we do a national soft branding,” he said.
