ELKINS, W.Va. — Kylie Felton and Michelle Thomas led Preston girls’ basketball team to a 58-40 victory over Elkins.
Felton was the leading scorer for the Knights (1-0) with 16 points and Michelle Thomas scored 15.
Preston got off to a hot start offensively — leading at halftime 27-12.The Knights held Elkins (0-1) to just 13 total baskets in the contest.
The Tigers did a better job in the second half — scoring 28 points — but it still wasn’t enough to catch up to Preston. The Knights pulled away in the fourth quarter by scoring 18 points.
Preston will play again at 7:30 p.m. Friday against Fort Hill (Md.).
