Jean Bishoff

Jean “Momzie” Bishoff, of Valley Point, went to her heavenly home to re-unite with “Pappy”, on Sunday Nov. 24, 2019 on the farm with family by her side.
The daughter of the late Milbert “Bill” and Dora Katheryn Summerfield Kelly, she was born March 15, 1937, in Job, W.Va.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who loved Jesus and farming. She loved promoting sheep and wool and was instrumental in starting the sheep and lamb shows at the Buckwheat Festival. She shared her talent of spinning and knitting with her special niece, Kelly Miller, and they attended many sheep and wool festivals and events together.

She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and Rush Limbaugh. She loved America and was very proud of her conservative values. Some of her favorite sayings were “Eat Lamb & Wear Wool”, “God Bless America” and “Vote Republican to Save our Country.”

Momzie is survived by a son Garry (Lena) Bishoff, of Fletcher, Okla; a daughter, Terrie (Johnny) Peaslee, whom she made her home with on the family farm; former daughters-in-law, Joyce Maxwell, Alice Bishoff and Margie Lowdermilk; grandchildren John (Nick) Peaslee and Amanda (Ike) McCleary, Alicia (Rob) Funk, Angela LeDuc, Brian (Danielle) Bishoff, Kattie Bishoff and Stephanie (Jeremy) Poland; great-grandchildren: Dora Katheryn, Buddy, Jimmy Peaslee and Brody and Jase McCleary, Hayley Coffman and Dylan Glover, Alex & Dylan Funk, Greyson, Liana, and Sylas Bishoff, Chloey, Stella, Maleah and Addie Bishoff. Macy and Layla Poland; great-great-grandson, Maxwell Glover; two Sisters, Shirley (Wayne) Miller and Rose (Tom) Miller; sisters-in-law, Vadna Walls, Betty Cramer, Mitzy Dixon, Deb Bolyard and Sandy Bishoff. She is also survived by many very special nieces and nephews and her special little poodle Happy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Delbert “Pappy” Bishoff in 1994. They married on Dec. 1, 1956. She was also preceded in death by Delbert’s siblings Kenneth Reckart, “Big John” and Clyde Bishoff and Ann Dixon.

Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, and from 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, until the 11:00 a.m. service with Revs. Lucinda Lee and Joe Lamm officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bishoff Family Farm Cemetery, Albright.
