HOW THEY SCORED: Oklahoma State 20, West Virginia 13

First quarter

OKLAHOMA STATE TOUCHDOWN: Jelani Woods 1-yard pass from Dru Brown (7:41), Oklahoma State leads, 7-0.

After shutting down Cowboys’ running back Chuba Hubbard on third-and-goal, Brown faked it to him and threw to a wide open Woods for a walk-in touchdown.
Hubbard, who came into the game with 1,726 yards rushing and 20 touchdowns, drew the entire defense to him and Woods, a tight end, was simply left unguarded.

Second quarter

WVU FIELD GOAL: Evan Staley 22-yard kick (10:33), Oklahoma State leads, 7-3.

This will go down as a disappointing possession for the Mountaineers, who took over at their own 34 after a shanked punt and drove and faced a first-and-goal at the OSU 1 before settling for the three points.

Jarret Doege was stuffed on two quarterback runs and then WVU guard Michael Brown was called for a false start.

Doege threw on third down, but Oklahoma State defensive end Trace Ford came in and hit Doege’s arm to force an incomplete pass.

WVU TOUCHDOWN: George Campbell 34-yard pass from Doege (5:23), West Virginia leads 10-7.

Campbell just keeps catching touchdowns for the Mountaineers.

Throwing off his back foot, Doege found the Florida State transfer in single coverage and hit him with a perfect pass for Campbell’s seventh TD on just 16 receptions this season.

Campbell beat Jerrick Bernard on the play.

Third quarter

OKLAHOMA STATE FIELD GOAL: Matt Ammendola 44-yard field goal (10:52), game is tied, 10-10.

The Cowboys tied the game with a 9-play, 45-yard drive to open up the second half.

WVU defensive end Jeffery Pooler Jr. came up big with a quarterback sack on third-and-six to force Oklahoma State to kick the long field goal.

WVU FIELD GOAL: Staley 29-yard kick (0:54), West Virginia leads, 13-10.

The Mountaineers answered with an 11-play 73-yard drive that ended with Staley connecting on a short field goal.

There was potential for more on the drive, as Doege connected with Leddie Brown for a 21-yard pass that set up a first down at the OSU 11. But, Brown was then dropped for a 4-yard loss and Doege was sacked.

Isaiah Esdale caught a 9-yard pass on third-and-20 to set up Staley for the short attempt.

Fourth quarter

OKLAHOMA STATE TOUCHDOWN: Dillon Stoner 2-yard pass from Brown (11:23), Oklahoma State leads, 17-13.

Similar to its touchdown in the first half, Brown again faked a handoff to Hubbard near the goal line and found Stoner on a quick slant to give the Cowboys the lead.

Brown’s pass was perfectly placed, as Hakeem Bailey had good coverage on Stoner.

OKLAHOMA STATE FIELD GOAL: Ammendola 22-yard kick (6:18), Oklahoma State leads, 20-13.

Pooler and teammate Sean Mahone came up with a crucial third-down stop to set up the short kick.

On third-and-two, the Cowboys handed the ball off to Hubbard, who was stopped short of the first down and Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy elected to kick the field goal to give OSU a seven-point advantage.
