Lions Club, 201st Infantry fly flags for veterans throughout November

Morgantown Lions and the 201st Infantry, Field Artillery Association erected 24 flags to honor veterans from the area.

The flags were erected at the 201st Memorial Park and will fly through November.

Plans are to fly flags over Memorial Day and July 4 holidays annually.

Those honored include Staff Sgt. William E. Friese, Harold Freedman, Herbert Borgstrom, Pvt. Robert Lee Kesler, Lt. George H. Sallows, Draft Officer Elizabeth I. Kesler Kershner, Sp. 4 Alfred Kesler, Sgt. Ligon Kesler, Lt. Earl Kesler, Pvt. George Whitfield, SSG Wallace Kershner, Jeffery Pearson, Danise C.W. Pearson, Cpl. Irvin Kulchock, Michael James Milinovich, James R. Sangston, Maj. Warren Decker, Warren Underwood, Eugene Roberts and Arlie Roberts.

Those honored will receive a photo medallion of the area. Anyone wanting to participate next year with a $50 donation to honor a veteran can call Lion Jim Sharley at 304-292-1227.
