Trinity Christian ends first season back on grid with 35-0 road loss at Wirt County

ELIZABETH, W.Va. — Trinity Christian has been facing adversity since the middle of the season, and its final game of the year handed them more.

The already beat up Warriors (2-8) looked to the season-starting running back Davon Eldridge as its fill-in quarterback after Drew Boczek suffered a season-ending injury, and before the first half closed, Eldridge went down with an injury of his own. The loss put the Warriors in a tough spot that saw the Tigers (4-6) pick up a 35-0 win.

The Warriors’ closest scoring drive came at the end of the first half off a 21-yard rush by Levi Teets to land at the 40-yard line. The follow-up field goal attempt, however, fell short.

Prior to going out, Eldridge picked up 9 yards on four rushes. He found nothing in the air, going 0 of 6 with one interception. Fill-in quarterback Teets, on the otherhand, had more success, rushing 12 times for 36 yards, but was also stymied in the air (2 of 2, 2 yards). Both of his passes went to Mason Steptoe. \

Nick Beimel added 4 yards on six carries, and Kyle Knight accounted for minus 1 yard on four carries.
