MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The West Virginia women’s basketball team looks to get its second win of the season out of a home game with Presbyterian today at 2 p.m.

This marks the second time in program history that the Mountaineers (1-0) face the Blue Hose (1-0), the first being Dec. 15, 2007. WVU, led by Meg Bulger with 19 points, shut down Presbyterian to take a lopsided 93-26 win.

The Blue Hose enter the meeting after defeating S.C. State 70-49 on Wednesday, and boast a 64.3 shooting percentage from the field. They are also managing 50 percent in three-point shooting and 60 percent at the free-throw line. Trinity Johnson leads Presbyterian with 17 points per game, while Bria Gibbs averages 14 points per game.

West Virginia’s 74-45 victory over Saint Francis on Thursday highlighted Kysre Gondrezick’s career-high 24 points. Esmery Martinez looks to continue to be big under the net, as she picked up eight boards against the Red Flash. Aside from Gondrezick, two other players — Kari Niblack and Rochelle Norris — also finished in double figures.
