Timothy E. Slaughter

Pastor Timothy E. Slaughter, 72, of Morgantown, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 28, 1946, in Morgantown, a son of the late Denzil and Bonita Wisman Slaughter.
Tim served the Lord faithfully for 36 years and was the pastor at Praise Assembly. Tim was affiliated with the Church of God Mountain Assembly. He traveled to many countries in South America on mission trips preaching and teaching the word of God and had a special place in his heart for Nicaragua.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Patty Slaughter; a daughter, Tricia Swiger and husband, Zach; grandchildren, Anna, Nathan, October and Stone; his siblings, Susan Warren, Denzil Slaughter and wife, Becky, Janet Griffin and husband, Dwain; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Slaughter.
Friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, and from 10 a.m. Monday. Nov. 4, until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Bishop Jay Walden officiating. Tim will be laid to rest at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
Since he had a heart for missions, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tim’s memory to Bishop Jay Walden, Missions Director, CGMA, 256 North Florence Ave., Jellico, TN, 37762.
