Virginia Ruth Barnes

Virginia Ruth Barnes, 87, of Bruceton Mills (Hazelton community), passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, at Mapleshire Nursing and Rehab Center, Morgantown.
The daughter of the late Clarence E. and Grace L. Fike Friend, she was born Dec. 15, 1931, in Selbysport, Md.
Virginia was a member of the Hazelton Church of The Brethren.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Randy and Teresa Barnes, of Bruecton Mills; a daughter and her husband, Roxanne and Martin “Bud” Wotring, of Bruceton Mills; and four grandchildren and their spouse, Gregory and Beth Wotring, Matthew and Jennifer Wotring, Curtis and Brooke Barnes and Aaron Barnes and fiancee, Amber Neyman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell C. “Barney” Barnes; a brother, Wayne Friend; and two sisters, Glendine Moyers and Goldie Thomas.
Family and friends may call at Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, and from 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, until the 11 a.m. service at the funeral home with Pastor Barry M. Adkins officiating.
Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery, in Bruceton Mills.
