Willis Dalton

Willis ‘Rob’ Staley Dalton, 66, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 at Mon Health Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family, after a five year battle with cancer.

Rob was survived by his wife of 26 years, Gilberta ‘Birdie’ Dalton; five children: Timothy Dalton (Kim), Heidi Jackson (Tad), Allan Dalton (Sue), Sara Linton (Brandon), Ralph Dalton (Amy), all of Morgantown; 18 grandchildren, whom were his pride and joy: Jacob (Danny) and Katie Kibert, Jalen Dalton, Layla and Linzee Jackson, Charles, Katelyn and Thomas Dalton, Mazee Dalton, Hunter Friend, Briar, Sequoia, Savannah, Shannon, Linton and Kaiden and Kynlea Dalton and Autumn Davis. He also leaves behind, a brother, Ronnie Dalton (Carol); sisters: Gloria Nestor (Danny), Chris Sanders (Randy) and Wendy Murray; father in law, Frank Barr; sister in law, Wendy Gill (Dave) whom was his companion during his cancer treatments. They traveled many trips to and from Philadelphia to the Cancer Center of America. A brother in law, Dorian Barr; a sister in law, Sue Dalton; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion, Mocha.
Rob was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Sr. and Mable Dalton; a brother, Dennis Dalton; and his mother in law, Hazel Barr.
Rob was a member of the Cool Springs VFD for 34 years. During that time, he served as secretary, assistant chief, chief and was currently the active treasurer.

He worked at WVU from 1976 until 1979 and then Morgantown Machine from 1979 until 1997, he then started his own countertop business, with his children, from 1997 until he retired in 2008. After retiring, Rob started Mountain View Jamboree along with his wife, until his illness.

Rob loved woodworking and recently built his own teardrop trailer from scratch. He was a very skillful man with many talents. He was mostly known for his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and his amazing food. He also loved to decorate and entertain.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia for all their care; the staff of Mon Health Medical Center, and Pastor Donna Dalton for all of the help she provided to Rob and his family.

Friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. on Monday Sept. 16. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Mountain View Jamboree 311 Mountainview Rd. Morgantown, WV 26508, until the time of funeral services at 4 p.m. with Pastor Donna Dalton officiating. Rob will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
