West Virginia men’s hoops to host Duquesne in charity exhibition

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — The West Virginia men’s basketball team will host Duquesne in a charity exhibition game on Nov. 1, marking the first meeting between the two schools since 2013.

Proceeds from the game will benefit the Dayton Oregon District Tragedy Fund, which helps individuals who were directly impacted by the shooting in Dayton, Ohio in August.

The game will be televised by AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh.

It’s the third consecutive season the Mountaineers have hosted a preseason Division I charity game, beginning with Albany, in 2017 and Penn State last season.

WVU averaged a crowd of 7,346 over the first two games.

Tickets for the game are included as part of the men’s basketball season ticket package. Information on individual ticket sales and admission for WVU students will be announced at a later date.

Duquesne finished 19-13 last season under head coach Keith Dambrot and return four starters, including sophomore point guard Sincere Carry, who averaged 12.1 points and 5.6 assists per game.

West Virginia owns a 51-37 edge in the all-time series between the former Atlantic 10 foes.
