University girls’ soccer team routs John Marshall 9-1

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Madison Wesolowsky and Tristen Bright each secured hat tricks in the University girls’ soccer team’s 9-1 blowout win over John Marshall.

“We wanted to get on them early and Madison sure did that,” UHS coach Graham Peace said.

Emily Lattea, Tara Hammack and Kassidy Wolfe each scored goals for the Hawks (5-1-1).

“All in all, it was a good workout and we scored some terrific goals. We stayed healthy and we got a lot of people into the game,” Peace said. “John Marshall worked hard to the very end, which shows some character, but I thought we put in a very solid all-around effort.”

University will play again at 1 p.m. Saturday against Washington.
